Transferring Hours From Another Cosmetology School

We take transfer students on a case-by-case basis depending on the number of hours transferring in and requirements needed to attend. We fluctuate in capacity and sometimes may have to deny or delay transfer entry until we have space in a class. Keep in mind that you may need to start on a future start date with open availability.

Important Considerations

There are a couple of things to be aware of during your transfer process:

  • Your program hours must have been completed within the last 5 years in order to be eligible for transfer.
  • The Atelier does not accept FAFSA.  All tuition payments must be made by the time a student graduates.
  • We can only accept transfer hours into identical programs. For example, we can accept cosmetology hours into our cosmetology program, but we cannot accept them into our hair technician program.
  • We are able to accept some kit items from other schools and provide any additional items or textbooks you may need for a fee.  Kit items must be reviewed by our school director and manager and cannot be branded with other school logos.
  • We'd like to set up a tour for you to come see our school and hear more about our program to determine if the Atelier is the right fit for you.
Tours

The first step of the transfer process will include taking a tour in order to see our space, go over details of our program, talk about your program experience so far, and make sure the Atelier is the right fit for you. Request a Tour

Application & Registration

After taking a tour and learning more about our academy's details, in order to start your transfer, we will need you to complete the application process.

In order to apply, you will need:
  1. A completed application packet
  2. A copy of your high school transcript, diploma, or GED
  3. A $50 application fee
  4. Your previous school transcript detailing hours and quotas (if required in your state/country) completed
  5. $100 transfer analysis fee
Once you have these pieces together, you can send the paper copies in the mail with a check to our address: 1413 Mainstreet, ATTN: Admissions, Hopkins, MN 55343 or you can email us your documents and set up a time to pay the application fee over the phone. See our Application Page for more details.

Once we have all the pieces together, we'll be able to set up a registration appointment where you'll be able to select when you start and see what your prorated hours and fees would look like.
